KLUBB SAFARI PÅ DATTERA TIL HAGEN 12. AUGUST
Siden ifjor sommer har Ruben Nesse og Simon Opitz bygget opp og drevet konseptet Klubb Safari på Landmark i Bergen. Med hovedfokus på klubbmusikk, har de booket alt fra lokale til internasjonale navn som Darius og Roosevelt.
I år startet de labelet Balsa Wood som allerede har rukket å signere artister som Skatebård, Boska, Niilas og Foreground Set. Dette blir første gang Klubb Safari inntar Oslo og er stolte av å presentere labelet med en helaften på Dattera Til Hagen!
DJs:
SKATEBÅRD:
The Norwegian producer of all things electronic. Connoisseurs know that his catalogue oscillates between emotional techno, neo-italo, electro from an alternative future and a Scando-cosmic reinterpretation of pure Detroitian house. This offbeat lad began his adventure in music upon the release of his 2002 debut Skateboarding Was A Crime (in 1989) on the legendary Tellé electro subsidiary imprint Tellektro. Skatebård conjured a blend of retro-electro, techno to even instrumental hip-hop that made a massive mark on the dance community. Getting the better of his ego and seeing the struggles of success faced with his musical comrades in the community, Skatebård opted to keep a low profile, yet anything but disappeared.
BOSKA:
Boska started producing sparse club music in Norway’s infamous techno capital Tromsø, taken out of the music studies and into the city’s night clubs by local DJs and promoters. A participant at Red Bull Music Academy’s 2011 edition in Madrid, Boska collaborated with amongst others Asma Maroof of Nguzunguzu. He has since released four EPs of bassy yet pretty house on Norway’s Love OD Communications, as well as singles and EPs on Sweden’s Studio Barnhus and Münich’s Permanent Vacation, receiving rotation from DJs like Julio Bashmore, Axel Boman, John Talabot and Prins Thomas. Cascades EP was out on Balsa Wood April 2015
NIILAS:
Niilas is the middle name of this new 18 year old producer from Bergen, Norway. Having a background in guitar and piano from his early teens, Niilas takes inspiration from all sorts of artists and bands from the likes of Kings Of Convenience, Casiokids and Röyksopp, to more modern producers like Drippin and Cashmere Cat. Almost all of which, hail from Bergen.
Niilas makes everything from hard-banging club tracks to sampled hip-hop beats. All of these has influenced his style to where it is today, and where it may go in the future. Ocelote is the result of this, and after doing remixes for the likes of Sondre Lerche and Stockhaus, he is now ready for his own track on Balsa Wood.
FOREGROUND SET:
Foreground Set is an uprising Bergen based electronic artist, known for his catchy electronic feel-good rhythms. Infused by the uplifting beats of funk, soul, jazz and hip hop, Foreground Set adds a certain intricacy to his music, setting himself alongside his successful electronic compatriots.
The man behind the project is Joar Renolen from Lillehammer, who kicked of his career by being “Ukas Urørt” of NRK P3. He is a part of the Diskorama Records family (Mathias Stubø, Proviant Audio, Kimichi, Ralph Myerz) and has released three EPs (“”Good Luck” 2010, “Nullpunkt”2012 and “Høy på pære” 2013) on Slektagrammofon. All Peak Run is out on Balsa Wood 19. June.
SIMON OPITZ:
Simon Opitz har det siste året lydsatt dansegulv på Bergens friskeste klubber og sammen med Ruben Nesse startet de opp Klubb Safari for å ta klubbmusikkens dypdykk på alvor. Med et saftig arsenal basstung house, flyter det mellom jazzete ride-symbaler, vuggende afrikanske rytmer og minimal eleganse.

RUBEN NESSE:
Ruben Nesse er klubbfixer og labelsjef i Brilliance/Balsa Wood, kjent for å huke ut spennende nye acts. Som DJ kjører han opp en god mix av nudisco og house.
