  • BLUE SOUL Based in San Francisco, Scott Boutin has been producing and DJing an eclectic range of music since 1993. Focusing on the sound design which he first explored as a guitarist, Scott began producing ambient music early in high school. After being exposed to the canon of underground techno, house, and disco he started DJing and collecting records, a passion that remains strong two decades later. While initially best known for his unique and intense style of djing, production has always remained a primary passion. Scott's first release of original music under the Blue Soul moniker was in 2000, a full length album of dub, disco, downtempo, house, and experimental breakbeats. A techno 12" was released in 2001 with support from Sonic Groove in NYC. Shortly after a move to San Francisco in 2001, he started Divine Resonance Records and his sound was embraced by the west coast underground as much as the east coast community he grew up in. Over the years Scott has had the pleasure of playing for essential SF events like Sunset Campout/Sunset Halloween Boat Party, Chillits, Bionic, Housepitality, Werd, and Bubble Limelight. He has releases on Roam Recordings, 3AM Devices, Thoughtless Music, Prisoner of Love, Trip Show, Whiskey Pickle, and Blipswitch Digital. He has also released more experimental work under the moniker Archetypewriter (@archetypewriter), which is heavily influenced by idm, jazz, dub, and post-rock. WILLIAM WARDLAW William is a Bay Area DJ who has worked with As You Like It since 2010. He plays a monthly ExYo at Wish in San Francisco. His inviting take on dance music explores deeper, melodic sounds with an appreciation for unpredictable rhythms and plenty of bass. He has played for many favorite local crews beyond AYLI, including Direct to Earth, Housepitality, The Boombox Affair, Forward, Werd, Qoöl, Bubble, SET, and Sound Department. Some of William's highlights include warming up for Ripperton, Max Cooper, Stimming, Marcus Worgul & Hunter/Game, Maayan Nidam & Konrad Black, Henry Saiz, Matthew Dekay & Silicone Soul, Sishi Rösch, and Tiger & Woods. William's exposure to world-class dance music started while studying abroad in London and attending events at Fabric nearly every weekend. Getting lost in that all-encompassing environment put the sounds into context. Kontrol parties, Sunset Sundays, and unlicensed undergrounds are key influences. William's respect for the local scene pushes him to discover new music and share the unique sounds he loves. DJ CLAIRITY Claire Evans White aka DJ Clairity started her music career as a hard techno DJ in 1997 in nearby Sonoma County. After moving to San Francisco a few years later, she quickly took to the scene and became heavily involved with throwing and playing parties. Claire has performed at venues throughout San Francisco and the United States, from the corner club to the deep underground. Notable gigs include a length stay in Europe and residency at Maybe Mondays. You can currently find her on second Fridays at Underground SF's Pulse Generator, working the crowd with her minimal techno and macro beats.
