- Soundcrash is very pleased to announce an incredible and indefinable double headline bill of London-based musical pioneers Polar Bear and James Holden’s live band at Electric Brixton on the 15th of November. Hot on the heels of their second Mercury Music Prize nomination for last years’ In Each And Every one’, Polar Bear followed it up in spectacular style with Same As You. After the dark complexity of its immediate predecessor, Same As You is presented in sharp focus, as inclusive and accessible as the title suggests, while still maintaining the playful experimentation on which the band has made its name. Polar Bear continue to think far beyond any genre restrictions, and if the improvisatory aesthetic of jazz is at the core of their sound then the organic integration of dub, hip-hop, rock and ambient music has also become a key part of their identity. Over the past few years Border Community leader James Holden has collaborated with the likes of Caribou, and toured with Thom Yorke’s electronic side project Atoms for peace.
