  • 》》》》》》INFO Pinnacle’s industrial lunacy is back for a third round of no-nonsense next-level techno. Naturally still preferring quality over quantity and art over profit, we’ve chosen to again host this third legal edition in Leuven’s intimate cellar venue ‘t Gewelf, joining only the true aficionados of electronic music’s mischievous cousin. As before, the auditory thrill will be complemented by a set of staggering threedimensionally mapped visuals. Having brought over J. Tijn and South London Analogue Material’s Ansome and Ossian, a standard has been set that is not easy to exceed. Yet we can confidently claim our current guests will leave you flabbergasted. Myler, Ayarcana and Mael all share a passion for downright disturbing noise aesthetics - an odd obsession that justifies their devotion to Variance. Luke Creed’s forward-thinking label Variance stands for a sound that is as beyond-category as it is ruthless. Already having established itself as a respectable label with original releases from messers like Keepsakes and Mickey Nox, and lauded remixers like Kamikaze Space Programme, Paul Birken and Ansome, both reliable sources and gut feeling tell us its scene relevance is in full acceleration. Three of its finest artists have been selected to convince you so. https://variancelabel.bandcamp.com/music https://soundcloud.com/variance https://www.facebook.com/varianceberlin 》》》》》》ARTISTS MYLER [IRL] (Variance, Fifth Wall, Emetic). This bearded Irish fellow has quickly made a reputation for being one of the toughest producers in contemporary industrial techno. Releasing lethal bangers on avant gardist record labels all across the techno landscape, he’s gained and gaining serious international respect and credibility. Check out: Fatland EP on Fifth Wall: ‘Machine Elves’! - when is the last time an industrial track made you cry? Also make sure to catch Swindelous EP on Variance, and XXIII on Martyn Hare’s Emetic imprint, both including a wicked Ansome remix. https://soundcloud.com/myler https://www.facebook.com/mylermusic AYARCANA [IT] (Variance, Vae Victis, Parachute Records). The fact that Italy is home to an almost disconcerting amount of techno heads is no secret. Still, we’re having a really hard time explaining the origin of the unprecedented rawness Ayarcana floods the scene with lately, let alone classifying it. Every single one of his releases bears witness to his deference to the power of cacophonic stomp music. Check out: ‘Been Down So Long It Looks Like Up To Me’ on VAR1000/V.A., his recent take on Ansome’s ‘Kenneggy’ on Pls.Uk and Disease Control EP on Dutch label Obscuur. https://soundcloud.com/ayarcana https://www.facebook.com/ayarcanamusic MAEL [IRL] (Variance). Another Irishman who’s much kinder than his musical taste suggests (luckily). Mael has produced several teeth-grinding tracks, all released exclusively on Variance, and is an experienced, outstanding DJ who gives more thought to his sets than most of today’s selectors. Check out: ‘Wired’ (free download!) and Mael’s fairly recent short radio mix for PROCSS (both via Soundcloud). https://soundcloud.com/maelmusik PINNACLE SOUNDSYSTEM [BE]. Residents. Opening the night firmly and closing it in a fashion far beyond reason. We promise to deliver. https://www.mixcloud.com/Pinnacle_Leuven 》》》》》》VARIOUS LIMITED CAPACITY. As you might recall from our previous edition ‘t Gewelf is too small a venue. We’re fine with that situation - it ensures our crowd consists of the like-minded hard core. The other side of the coin is that we’ll have to refuse entry to a number of disappointed people. In order to avoid such disappointment, we advice you come early or order a presale ticket. We’re granting ACCESS TO FEWER PEOPLE than we did on previous (vastly overcrowded) edition. NO SECURED CLOAKROOM. Unlike previous edition. We need all the space we can find.
