GET DOWN EDITS / DISCO DEVIANCE / GLEN VIEW RECORDS
From Waterford City in Southern Ireland, Get Down Edits are Darren Daz Dalton & Martin Roche, Since the late 90`s Waterford born duo Daz & Martin have been tearing up dancefloors around Ireland, Coming from a House & Deep House background in their early days they played support to the likes of Kenny Dope (M.A.W), Dj Deep (Paris), Charles Webster, Fish Go Deep, Chez Damier, Ben Watt & Atjazz to name but a few & even received praise from New York legend Kerri Chandler when he added their names to the thanks list of both his NRK Coast 2 Coast & Southport Weekender mix CD`s as he was so impressed with their many great warm up sets for him,
In 2006 the duo landed a weekly room 2 residency in long running Waterford Alternative Club "Shakedown", this was their chance to expand their music style & they soon build up Shakedowns room 2 as a cool funky space with a anything goes music policy with various styles from funk, soul, disco, classic electronic & 80`s dance all mixed in house music style,
In 2008 the duo started running & promoting their own "Get Down" night and this allowed them to further refine their signature sound to the deep and soulful disco sound it is today. "Get Down" was their chance to book & promote acts they really believed in, so for the next few years they put on parties with guests like Greg Wilson, Craig Smith, The Revenge, Mark E, Dicky Trisco, LTJ, Harri, 78 Edits to name but a few & it was infact Mr Greg Wilson who advised the duo to set up their own label after he heard some of their re-works & edits played when he came over to play a guest slot for them.
So with some guidance & help from Greg in June 2011 "Get Down Edits" the label was born when its Vol 1 Vinyl release hit the shelfs of all good record stores & the rest they say is history, well not quite history yet as since they have released 3 more Volumes of the series which features tracks by other heavyweight producers including Late Nite Tuff Guy, Deep & Disco, Fingerman & Deadly Sins plus they are about to release Vol 5 early in 2014, as well as releasing material on their own Get Down Edits label they have been invited to host their work on other successful labels & have worked with the likes of Disco Deviance, Glenview US, Editorial, Play Pal, They have also began remixing & have remixes due for release early 2014 for the likes of JKriv & The Disco Machine, Nine Lives & Yam Who.
Since the launch of Get Down Edits the duo have been getting requests to Dj at various parties all across Europe & the UK & can be found each weekend in clubs in places like London, Newcastle, Leeds, Dundee, Hamburg, Budapest or beach parties in Italy, Croatia or Greece as well as some great nights or festivals around Ireland.
