We invite you to join us for the third year of the Andrew Weatherall weekender, which is now named Convenanza, after Andrew’s artwork for last year’s edition.
The festival is set in the unique location of Carcassonne medieval castle, the most jaw-droppingly stunning festival site you will ever see.
Receiving rave reviews and feedback last year, Convenanza has become the destination of choice for those looking for something different in an outstanding location. It takes place on Friday September 25th and Saturday September 26th in Carcassonne.
The food offer created for this event will be in line with the stunning setting: Michelin star head chef Jérome Ryon, who works for the famous “Hôtel de La Cité” in the castle, will be once again in charge of the temporary restaurant in the venue!
The food at the festival is not incidental, this is a serious food offering for serious, discerning foodies…at incredible prices: dishes from £3.50 to £5.00!
An eminent sommelier, Olivier Zavattin, who has worked for several Michelin star Restaurants, will select the best local wines for the event! Andrew will make a limited print, signed and numbered especially for the event (30 copies).
The king of Istanbul nights: on both days,Baris K will drop his blissed-out Anatolian rhythms and hashish-stained disco in the castle. Parisian band VoX LoW will play an exclusive live set on Saturday. From London: ex Spacemen 3, Sterling Roswell + Band will play their psychedelic mini-masterpiece “The call of the Cosmos”. Crimes of the Future (Timothy J. Fairplay/Scott Fraser) have prepared an exclusive live set (including a tribute to John Carpenter’s soundtracks!).
Then we bring you The Asphodells (Andrew Weatherall/Timothy J. Fairplay) with an exclusive DJ set which caused dancefloor goosebumps last year! On both days, Andrew Weatherall will present his “Music’s not for everyone” sessions where dark-hearted rockabilly, interspersed with oddities from the back pages of post-punk, industrial, krautrock, psych, dub, proto techno… can be expected. You probably won’t recognise a single goddamned track, but every one will be special!
And of course Andrew Weatherall and Sean Johnston bring their celebrated ‘A Love from Outer Space’ party to the castle! Expect dizzying selections of sleazy narco-disco informed by New Beat, acid house, dub and kosmische…
