RUF DUG (Ruf Kutz)
We are ecstatic to announce that for our first birthday we have this much revered djing talent. Hailing from Manchester, Ruf Dug is a former Red Bull Music Academy participant and makes regular appearances on NTS radio.
Alongside releases on labels as diverse as DJ Haus’ Unknown To The Unknown and Porn Wax, Ruf Dug runs his own imprint Ruf Kutz which features releases from previous Pagoda headliner, Glowing Palms.
To create an energetic and memorable experience Ruf selects sounds which showcase an eclectic catalogue of influences.
DJs from MOODYMANN, BEN UFO, Kito Jempere and Jose Padilla reach out for his music. This year he released a fantastic LP on acclaimed Balearic imprint Music For Dreams, entitled “Island” - recorded over 12 weeks spent on the sun-drenched French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe with a suitcase studio comprising of two half-rack synthesizers, a couple of effects units, his laptop and a 4-track cassette recorder.
The records that he plays are not only for sunsets, but also for late-night smuggling adventures; for tropical storms and rum-soaked afternoons; for pirates, playboys and people like you and me.
Stu Robinson ASOK
Our good friend Stu Robinson, aka ASOK, will be gracing the 24 Kitchen Street dance floor again. Stu is well versed in a spectrum of music styles from d&b, electro funk, disco to house and techno. He has released material from an array of esteemed music labels such as Use of Weapons, M>O>S, Mule Musiq and Good Ratio Music. He also runs Scenery Records which features his own releases alongside other recognisable Liverpool names such as John Heckle, Bantam Lions and Mark Forshaw.
We are also bringing back the brilliant duo that is Andy Ash and Chris Barker. They never fail to keep the party going strong into the early hours and we’re sure they have some tricks up their sleeves especially for our birthday.
