  • The London-based, Belfast-born blogger-production-dj duo of Matt McBriar and Andy Ferguson need little by way of introduction. The Irish duo have turned into the darlings of the underground house scene with their feel good, yet tough, house and techno sets, eschewing current fads for what sounds good (even if that means playing a lost classic from the early 80’s). They first came to the world's attention through their 'Feel My Bicep' blog which turned into the go-to place for tastemakers world-wide looking to find lost and forgotten disco / Chicago house / Detroit techno / Italo edits and everything in-between. Hailing from an advertising and graphic design world, the duo has implemented a strong branding aesthetic into the blog which compliment their impressive crate digging skills, elevating them from the endless stream of music blogs as an unique online voice (they also released a run of branded clothing apparel which sold out in no time). They are ‘Best of Essential Mix 2014’ nominees and polled in last year’s Resident Advisor Top 100 DJ’s list; they are the 2015 summer residents at current London buzz club, XOYO, and We Love Residents night in Space Ibiza (alongside Disclosure, Sasha and Skream); their Feel my Bicep club nights are popular across the globe and also hosted Todd Terje’s London album launch, and they closed the famed Yuma Tent at last year’s Coachella festival. There is no doubt that Bicep are the current generation’s saviours (and educators) of underground and credible house – and they are finally heading to Australia and New Zealand for their most comprehensive tour yet. In 2015 the relationship with Aus is further developed with a 4 track Just EP in May which was closely followed by the announcement of Bicep becoming the new residents at London club XOYO, playing every Saturday night across the summer from July to September. They programmed guests such asDerrick May, Andrew Weatherall and 30+ more across the 13 week series. Other Feel My Bicep 2015 parties include the first stateside one in March which took place in LA, and an Off Sonar party in Barcelona with Dj Harvey in conjunction with Frankfurt’s Live At Robert Johnson in June. Back in the studio, FMB005/6 are scheduled for a 2015 release as well as remixes for Brassica’s new album and one for UK Acid House hero’s to be announced soon. US label First Choice are set to be reborn with a Bicep remix of Dionne and the guys have submitted a spattering of one off tracks for various compilations including a track for Modeselektor's closing 50 Weapons compilation, and Gerd Janson’s Musik For Autobahns Volume II forthcoming on Rush Hour. Keep an eye out for a new a T-shirt series and regular updates on the blog and London 22 tracks page.
