KANGDING RAY is a French born electronic music producer based in Berlin. His music has been released on labels such as Raster-Noton and Stroboscopic Artefacts.
His remixes have complimented the likes of Ben Frost, Battles, Inigo Kennedy, Dadub, Violetshaped, Mondkopf, ASC and Cassegrain with appearances on esteemed labels such as Mute, Warp, Token, In Paradisum and Modal Analysis.
“There’s something about Kangding Ray that seems to leap out into the physical world without ever actually leaving the techno realm; the bass drum feels more akin to an actual material impact rather than being a mere intangible construction of low frequency, while synthesizers scan the stereo spectrum like strobes, flowing over the music’s insistent tempo and yet still very much dictated by the rhythmic throb from beneath. GENE HOFFMANN has been a passionate and active part of the world techno fraternity since the mid 90’s. He’s best known for his dynamic multichannel DJ sets that blend a broad range of techno that appeals to both the mind and feet, and also noted by some for his oddball sense of humour and for his infectious enthusiasm for techno music in general.
