After months of anticipation, The Pickle Factory opens its doors to the public on 23rd October with a befitting launch party featuring three luminaries of the contemporary house and techno scene.
Topping the bill is Ostgut Ton mainstay Anthony Parasole. The New Yorker specialises in raw, no-nonsense house and techno, perfectly suited to The Pickle Factory’s intimate setting. Together with old friend Levon Vincent, Parasole started Deconstruct Music in 2008, and then a few years later his own label, The Corner. Anthony recently joined the Ostgut family, which, together with a series of electric gigs in Berghain, has seen him reach new levels of respect in Europe over the past few years.
Joining Parasole will be Detroit legend Mike Huckaby, who’s spent his long career as a DJ, producer and label owner at the very forefront of his home city’s music scene. Huckaby has been producing top shelf dance music for over twenty years on his two labels, Deep Transportation and S Y N T H. As a DJ, Mike is famously diverse, equally capable of pulling florid disco records, classic house, and deep, rough techno.
Secretsundaze boss Giles Smith rounds out the bill for the opening night. Smith is rightly regarded as one of the UK’s finest resident DJs; a reputation built from years at the helm of the long-running secretsundaze parties he runs with James Priestley. An impeccable selector, Smith is an electronic-music encyclopedia, putting his knowledge to good use whenever he steps up to DJ.
