Minimal house & techno specialists The Double R (DBLR) roll into town for an intimate label showcase on November 13th.
The Double R is the brainchild of Radio Slave and Jamie Fry, better known as the man behind the revered STABLO series. Headlining for them is old friend and fellow Berliner Dana Ruh, who’s been turning heads with her enviable record collection since 2005. Dana is behind a series of stripped back house releases, both on her own label Brouqade and for Pickle Factory favourites like Ostgut Ton, Underground Quality, Work Them Records and forthcoming Soul People Music.
She’s joined by Suciu, who’s responsible for one half of The Double R’s latest release. The latest in a line of prodigal Romanian producers, Suciu has been making waves far beyond his native Bucharest with a series of refined, richly textured tech house EPs. Weaned on Romanian royalty Raresh and Praslea during his time as a resident in Bucharest, Suciu has DJed all over Europe - though rarely in the UK capital.
The Double R boss Jamie Fry rounds out the bill. The Berliner’s underground credentials are second to none: from 2010-2012 his currently dormant label STABLO released five transcendent EPs, which remain some of the most sought after records in recent memory. Today, Fry nurses his vinyl obsession through The Double R, Deep Moves and KMA60, a musical consulting and distribution company he launched with Dana Ruh earlier this year.
