Zach Saginaw was brought up on a steady diet of Michigan bred music including old Motown and Jazz. Zach spent three years studying Jazz at the New School in NYC and then three more in London where he was introduced to electronic production. Soon enough a unique style materialised when Zach moved to home to Detroit and took up the name Shigeto. Shigeto’s sound uses Zach’s jazz percussion education as the foundation but adds cool shades of stuttering IDM, hip-hop, dubstep bass and ambient music.
Shigeto’s releases have been held to critical acclaim, leading Zach to be one of the hardest working touring artist of his genre with nearly 180 shows across the world in 2012 and then again in 2013.
