As the nights close in and the days get shorter RAW M.T. and Moodcut represent two penetrating beams of brightness in an otherwise stolid October’s eve. Combining their powers at the Dance Tunnel, these two up and coming artists represent a fresh and exciting breed of techno artist who are creating music under their own auspices and feel inspired in doing things their own way. Two of the most exciting and talented producers currently simmering under the radar, we are fortunate to have auditory access to both of them in one night.
Hailing from Italy, RAW M.T. has slayed 2015 with three big releases via Mork, Wicked Bass and Unrelated Records. Honing his abilities, this fresh sounding DJ is deftly making his mark, standing out in a scene where so often things can sound the same. A first time visitor to London, we’ll leave it to Giorgio himself to explain…
…strength combined with cunning ... raw is the Viking explorer ... backpacker, he takes leave from the legions at dawn .. the camp fires slowly dying ... the comrades still snoring with their mouths open, drunk from the night before, as he enters camouflaged and silent as a cougar... a mountain lion ... in the lost lands ... in the virgin forests ... among the mist of the morning in the pursuit of the holy immaculate/unblemished groove never heard before ... often he runs into jewellery left by ancient civilizations now evolved… sometimes even into alien ships hidden in the florae .. under a limitless starry sky ... listen in silence…. enchanted ... to his tales .. his adventurous stories of reconnaissance and exploration
Shorn from a similar cloth, Moodcut is also gathering much momentum. A release last year via ‘need to know’ label Nous announced his arrival and marked him as a one to keep an eye for in 2015. With a burning 12” workout ‘Heartbeat Takeaway’ about to drop on Mork, the heat is rising and Moodcut’s effervescent talents are starting to come to the surface. Without doubt one of the most exciting new artists out there right now, Moodcut’s answering the call and delivering nothing but fire right now.
