Freerotation X Gottwood X Field Maneuvers: Refugee Fundraiser

  • On Saturday November 14th three like-minded festivals - Freerotation, Gottwood & Field Maneuvers - are uniting to support the current European refugee crisis. Each of these independent UK festivals will be hosting some of the most exciting names in electronic music over three floors in the Bussey Building. We will be providing additional sound, visuals and décor to bring the festival experience to the city. All proceeds of the event, including Resident Advisor’s booking fees, will be donated to the Red Cross Refugee Crisis Fund. ROOM 1 – Hosted by Freerotation DJ Bone (Subject Detroit) – uncompromising and revered in heads-down techno circles, Bone is making a rare London appearance after almost tearing down Baskerville Hall, the home of Freerotation, at his last performance there. Blawan (Hessle Audio / R&S) – Blawan is known for his hard-hitting techno alongside a number of other collaborative projects with luminaries such as Pariah and Surgeon. Here he brings his records for a DJ set not to be missed. Steevio & Suzybee - Live (Freerotation / MIndtours) – Steevio’s live modular synth work-outs combined with Suzy's unique visuals having been wowing the members of the secretive Freerotation Festival for years. More recently they've been spreading the word internationally and toured some of Europe's most revered underground venues. Tom Ellis - Live (Freerotation / Logistic / Telegraph / Mindtours) - A core member and resident of Freerotation, Tom Ellis has been releasing jazz inspired house & techno worldwide on numerous top labels since 2003. Duckett - Live – (Freerotation / UntilMy HeartStops / Mindtours) - With a Freerotation residency and releases on Mindtours, UMHS , MindYourHead and 6ONE6, Duckett is a name which is fast becoming recognised among UK techno connoisseurs. Sam Watson (Freerotation) – Long-standing resident of Freerotation, Sam blew a lot of minds with his set this year and is looking to become the latest member of the Freerotation crew to start making bigger waves across the techno scene. ROOM 2 – Hosted By Gottwood Nicolas Lutz (My Own Jupiter / Club Der Visionaere) - ‘My Own Jupiter’ head honcho and Club Devisionere resident joins us for a two hour set in room two – expect a broad range of minimal and dubby sounds from the well regarded Uruguayan born Berlin based selector. Archie Hamilton (Moscow / Arkityp) – Old time friend of Gottwood and fast-rising London local Archie Hamilton will be delivering two hours of the twisted, deep and groove-laden techno he is becoming notorious for. Anyone who caught his set at Gottwood this year will surely be very excited about this! Tony & The Waves - Tony and the Waves are a three man Disco crew comprised of Christopher Coupe, Tom Stiedl and Ned Pegler (Medlar). eLDOKO - Longstanding Gottwood resident and co-founder will be warming things up from 10pm. + Very Special Guest ROOM 3 – Hosted by Field Maneuvers Auntie Flo & Esa' 'Theory of Flo' album launch party (Huntleys & Palmers) - FM resident Auntie Flo and his collaborator Esa bring their idiosyncractic 'future afro-beat' sounds from the across the black Atlantic diaspora, including everything from Chicago house, Detroit techno, disco, cumbia, kwaito and afrobeat. Their Highlife parties are notoriously uninhibited and fun affairs, this will without doubt be a similar affair. Christian S (Cómeme) - Christian S's sets are known for being as geographically diverse and vital as the releases from the Cómeme label with which he is associated. Last time he played FM's party at Dance Tunnel it was a sold-out affair with everyone demanding more after the final tune was played. If you are looking to dance, this guy delivers. Shanti Celeste (Brstl / Idle Hands) - FM regular, cornerstone of the Bristol music scene, vinyl-pusher at Idle Hands, curator of club nights; Shanti will be bringing her party-starting, feel-good house vibes to our room. Blackfoot Phoenix (NTS) - with his monthly NTS radio show and regular appearances on line-ups ranging from Work It, to Just Jam, to Global Roots, Blackfoot Phoenix is well-versed on the subject of the dancefloor.
