One of the most revered producers in the underground dance scene, France’s Alex Kid, is coming to Sydney for an exclusive 3 hour set with Deep As Fu*k on Saturday 20 December.
Recruited for production work by many of the foremost figures in the electronic world, including Phonique, Llorca, Chloe and King Britt, Alex Kid is renowned for his eclectic production Midas touch. A constant presence in the club landscape, he has also explored dub with his band Dubphonic and collaborated with musicians as far a field as Suzanne Vega, John Cale and even George Michael.
While recognised for his broad musical sensibility that stretches from jazz and dub to drum & bass and abstract hip-hop, it is for his house and techno projects that Alex Kid is best known. Predominately releasing on Laurent Garnier’s acclaimed F Comm label, he has also released on revered imprints like Ovum and Guidance, and produced three hugely successful major albums, including Carocal and Mint, which featured the tracks ‘Don’t Hide It’ and ‘Come With Me’ and attracted remix attention from Tiga, Blackstrobe, Riton and Josh Wink.
For real fans of all genres of music, and variations of established club genres, this gig is a must.
