Space Cassette returns with more live electronic music and ritual dancing.
In the 1880's a curious artifact was unearthed in the Manchester area. It was so weird that it was thought by many to be from outer space. This 10cm x 6.4cm metallic cuboid remained a mystery for over 100 years. It was only due to the wide availability of the Sony Walkman in the 1980s that the true nature of this strange object was revealed. This so-called 'Space Cassette' contained sounds that had never been heard on planet Earth...
Upon hearing this cosmic music, a group of musicians hatched a plan to record and send a joint reply. It was to this end that the first 'Space Cassette' night was held and the first 'Golden Tape' was sent into space.
Having recieved no reply to our attempted contact in June, we at Space Cassette HQ have decided that it is time to send a second message...
Taking place in a mystery warehouse location, we will once again bring together musical acts of the most cosmically inspired nature: Electronic music pioneer, Tim Exile (Warp, Planet Mu) will be improvising on a 'flow machine' of his own design; Chevron (030303, Ad Noiseum, Planet Mu) will be channeling the spirit of rave through his eclectic, encyclopedic use of dance grooves; We have a world exclusive premier of 'Enter the Fug' mixtape by Brain Rays (Baconhead, Bizarre Rituals) and Stoogie Houzer with the addition of local rave aliens, Henge, bringing their intergalactic form of party music 'cosmic dross' to the mixture!
