Label heads Dan Monox & The Wasp launched Dixon Avenue Basement Jams in late 2012 and since then they have established themselves as one of the most exciting labels in house and techno. The Glasgow based imprint go for a quality over quantity approach and have released show stopping EPs from burgeoning underground talent Marquis Hawkes, Vernon, TX Connect, Denis Sulta, Modini and Jared Wilson among others.

Following his high school days, DJ TLR and his friends first played at jungle parties in the 90s but soon began to come under the influence of The Hague’s squat parties. Organised mainly by the Acidplanet collective, these events brought together all the freaks residing in the Dutch city, from all styles of music and walks of life. But when the West Coast of Holland started to gain recognition for underground electronic artists like Legowelt, Orgue Electronique, Alden Tyrell and Rude 66, TLR set up the pre-social media Global Darkness web forum to connect with like-minded electro jak-aholics around the globe and concurrently established his own label, Crème Organization. Acting as a home to local artists like Danny Wolfers and Orgue, the label has since welcomed producers from around the world, including Bangkok Impact, Alexander Robotnick, JTC and Willie Burns, while releasing acclaimed albums from D’Marc Cantu, Neville Watson and DJ Overdose. “A lot of the early Crème releases weren’t really about the clubs, we always were more in a freak zone,” he says, summarizing the label ethos and that of his sub label, R-Zone, whose main aim is to to allow well-known producers to put out esoteric music anonymously.
