Astral People are proud to announce the exclusive one-night double headliner between dynamic duo Shigeto and Lapalux!
Brought up on a steady diet of Michigan-bred music and crates of old Mowtown and jazz records, Shigeto is a pioneer in experimental electronica, continuing to push boundaries with his signature ambient and textured sound.
Having already toured with the likes of Bonobo, Tycho and Slow Magic, landed coveted spots with Red Bull Music Academy and Boiler Room, and been signed to US label Ghostly International, Shigeto has established his place as an ingenious artist that is a force to be reckoned with. His highly acclaimed 2013 album No Better Time Than Now received an impressive 4/5 rating from international tastemaker Resident Advisor, further fuelling the anticipation surrounding the October release of his upcoming EP Intermission.
Lapalux has an ability to experiment with texture and genre like no other. His distinct sound and forward-thinking attitude pricked the ears of industry heavyweight Flying Lotus, who quickly signed him to his own label Brainfeeder, through which he released his debut LP Nostalchic in 2013.
The Essex-native’s freshly release album Lustmore encapsulates the Brit’s innovative direction, combining soothing saxophones, billowing synths and occasional ethereal vocals to create a hazy electronica that strokes the senses. His second album through Brainfeeder, Lustmore has been on high rotation on Triple J and FBi, earning him comparisons with legendary producers Flying Lotus and James Blake. The British native’s unique talents have led to him remixing tracks for the likes of Young Thug, The Acid and Mirrors.
