After the great success of « The Sound of Belgium – The Party » in October 2014, Belgian Beats now has the immense pleasure of officially announcing the second round of these retro parties in which they will be re-uniting the pioneers of electronic music in an amazing setting and this on New Year’s Eve in Palace 12 of the Brussels Expo.
More details will be revealed soon but we can already give you a sneak preview into this unique event…
Belgian Beats announces a killer line-up in which the organizers have decided to honor Germany as special guest star. After all, it was Germany, along Belgium, that was at the forefront of the electronic music scene in Europe during the early days. The role of Germany in the development of house and techno music is best exemplified through the Berlin Love Parade, which united over 1 million music fans for an amazing party celebrating electronic music, love & peace during many years throughout the nineties. It also attracted a huge Belgian crowd so we are happy to put the link between Belgian & German club culture back in the spotlight. We are doing this by making the founders of the Love Parade, Westbam and Dr Motte, the international headliners of this event. They will share the main floor with colleague Jam & Spoon who also headlined the Love Parade on many occasions.
No Belgian Beats party without a lot of Belgian names obviously so we are also very happy to announce many of the names that made last year’s party such a great success: Yves Deruyter, Phi-Phi, CP, Olivier Pieters, Zolex, Eric Beyssens,… As well as a number of new additions such as T99-Quadrophonia, Tofke, Zzino, Murvin Jay and many others who left an erasable mark on Belgium’s music history. All these names will appear on two different stages.
For this New Year special edition, a lot of attention will be placed on creating an unequalled show. For the very first time ever in Belgium, Belgian Beats will present a 100m2 full holographic 3D show. And as if that isn’t spectacular enough, there will also be choreographed performances by the Human Light Dancers, again never seen on Belgian ground. Add to that amazing sound, lights, lasers, New Year’s pyrotechnics and more and you know that the organizers are clearly going for gold to create a unique and unforgettable experience!
All of this MC’d by your very own Mr. Lou Depryck! The man responsible for Plastic Bertrand’s: ‘Ca Plane Pour Moi’ and who played an important role in early New Beat and Popcorn music.
