Brian Shimkovitz aka Awesome Tapes From Africa will be back in October to share his colourful collection of African cassette tapes with Boney's d-floor. Starting as a label re-issuing underground vinyls from all over the continent, Brian dedicates his time to sharing little heard African music. His blog, Awesome Tapes From Africa, is jam-packed with gems collected on his travels everywhere from Mali to Ethiopia - most frequently on cassette tape. Armed with his tape decks, he'll be sharing the stage with Melbourne's Gordy Zola, The Senegambian Jazz Band, walking music encyclopedia Jeremy Spellacey (Crown Ruler / Cocoa Butter), and ESESE DJs Hudson James Jr, Jarz, Hancoq & Mitch Graunke for the late night boogie.
