  • Due to the extreme amount of demand from the vast amount of Kiwi’s at every Gimme party, we have bowed to their will, and will be shipping out their favorite son - Timmy Schumacher from the highly regarded NZ breaks outfit Baitercell & Schumacher on Saturday 6th of August for a night of world class breakbeat from the land of the long white cloud. Baitercell & Schumacher (B&S) have taken the breaks world by storm, with three highly regarded releases on Passenger (Aquasky’s label). A remix of Aquasky’s own ‘Cobra’, then ‘Lock & Load’, and the much acclaimed dance floor stormer ‘What’s down Low’, which also featured on Aquasky’s Knowledge magazine mix CD, regarded by many in the know as an absolute must have item. Teaming up with hard breaks maestro DJ Mutiny, B&S also produced ‘Test Press’ which was released on Mutiny’s own label Funkatech in 2004. Funkatech being one of the most esteemed labels in hard breaks today, with their releases being sought after by the whole Gimme crew, and like-minded hard breaks DJ’s everywhere. Though most notably of all B&S have broken into the American market with the hip-hop influenced ‘Lay it Down’ being signed to top US breaks god DJ Icey’s own label Zone Recordings, receiving rave reviews during Icey’s hectic US circuit, getting a solid caning from coast to coast, and rocking dance floors world-wide. Timmy is also an accomplished and original DJ, well respected in his home town of Auckland, and familiar to breakbeat enthusiasts across the globe. So it is with great pleasure that we welcome him down to Brown Alley to play at Melbourne’s own night of extreme breaks mixology - Gimme a Break! With Gimme’s most recent parties being some of the biggest, best and most badass in Brown Alleys upstairs history, this one will be no exception. New Zealanders and Aussies Unite!!
