This New Year’s Eve, Young Turks and Siberia Records will bring in 2016 by throwing one of their infamous parties. This year’s location: Wollongong (On the beach, 80 KM south of Sydney), Australia.
Young Turks is the London based record label, which is home to: Jamie xx, FKA twigs, The xx, and more. Siberia is the Sydney-based label home to Midnight Juggernauts, Kirin J Callinan, NULL, Cassius Select, and more.
In 2013/14 Young Turks hosted a New Year’s Eve party on the beach in Tulum, Mexico which featured live performances from their entire roster and special guests (Grimes & Fourtet to name a few). This year’s party will be much different, but just as special, featuring an all-DJ-line-up of all unannounced local and international talent in the very intimate setting of a small-town laneway!
The party is a celebration of the vibrant music scene in Sydney, which this year faced immense challenges from the governments’ stringent policing of nightclubs and provides an intimate and laid back alternative to the bigger, commercial dance festivals.
The party will be a few blocks from the beach, running from 8PM-2AM with private afterparties sure to ensue.
Tickets will be released in three tiers this Friday, Nov 27 at 10AM AEST with the first at just $85 AUD and topping out at $105 AUD
