For a venue like Culture Box to exist for a more than a decade is no small feat, especially in Denmark, but it's now been eleven years, and we're still here. In January 2005, Culture Box first opened it's doors to the public, and to try and mention just some of the artists who since have stood in the booth, under the dim red lights, would inadvertently end up as a very long list, of the most important local and international acts, from the history of electronic music.
Culture Box has become a refuge for both the artists and lovers of the music. An intimate space with powerful sound system, and a massive program. Something that will of course be reflected at the birthday party – From America, we have techno legend DJ Rolando, also known as The Aztec Mystic of Detroit, who gave Underground Resistance their biggest ever hit. UK is represented by Daniel Miller, owner of arguably the most important record label of all time, Mute Records - producer of since the '70s, starting with his own The Normal and later Depeche Mode. Our own Northern Structures round off the line up in Black Box, while Red Box is headlined by Colognes's Shumi, supported by Icelandic Sexy Lazer and Denmark's Kasper Bjørke. The party kicks off in White Box at 21:00 with Copenhagen's break through artists Erosion Flow and Kasper Marott.
So, come nightfall on Saturday January 16th 2016, We celebrate eleven years of house, eleven years of techno, eleven years of dancing, eleven years of raving – eleven years of non-stop, high quality, underground, electronic dance music!
