Something Else & Anomaly Pres Abdulla Rashim & Deepchild (Live) & Baron Castle

  • PRE SALE TICKETS HAVE NOW CLOSED. ALL REMAINING TICKETS AVAILABLE ON THE DOOR... Good things always come in threes, much like our parties. Sat 9th January we host three crews over three levels with Something Else, Anomaly and Trojan Records. Anomaly team up with Something Else to bring you Abdulla Rashim from Sweden. Whilst running the acclaimed Northern Electronics label, Rashim has emerged at the forefront of deep, experimental techno in recent years. Wholly dedicated to his ideas and sound, Rashim's quest for renewal and the importance of his craft has reflected well both internationally and locally, where he is praised alike.  Abdulla Rashim's productions display an inherent understanding of the depths of techno. His releases include two amazing albums on Northern Electronics, EPs on Semantica and Prologue and an outstanding remix on Dement3d Records.  Abdulla and his Northern Electronics cohort; including Acronym and Varg, have been making serious impressions in Europe of late; having recently hosted a label showcase at Berlin Atonal and being featured as RA's label of the month.  Anomaly will be taking over ground floor with Abdulla Rashim. On support will be Jordan Peters and Gareth Psaltis of Anomaly and upcoming talent Amateur Humans warming up the room.  ▫  Ground Floor ▫  Abdulla Rashim  Jordan Peters  Gareth Psaltis  Amateur Humans   https://soundcloud.com/abdulla https://northernelectronics.bandcamp.com/ Up on Level 1 Something Else brings some Sydney talent back from Berlin, headed up by the techno guru Deepchild. From tough-minded house and techno to cavernous, dub-inflected post-bass excursions, Deepchild has earned a reputation as a groundbreaking producer, respected DJ and electrifying live-performer. Based in Berlin for the last few years he has performed at many of the world’s most respected electronic music institutions: Detroit’s Movement Festival, ADE, and EXIT Festival in Serbia, as well as at famed nightclubs the world over, including numerous appearances at Berlin’s legendary Berghain, Watergate and Tresor, amongst hundreds of others. Highly acclaimed for his dynamic and deeply personal take on raw, defaced yet decidedly seductive techno, Deepchild’s passion for exploration of the form precedes him. Our second homecoming DJ is Baron Castle (real name Aaron Castle) who cut his teeth on the mid-noughties rave scene in Sydney, but it was his relocation to Berlin in 2011 that saw him prevail in multi-faceted fashion. Producer, programmer and host of Boiler Room, founder of the popular White Tiles events and lynchpin of Berlin's DJ circuit, Castle quickly became a regular on A-list line-ups at clubs such as Tresor, Stattbad, ://about.blank (including the infamous homopatik parties) and Chalet (where he also operated as a weekly booker). Beyond that he recorded his own Boiler Room mix and brought his sound to other corners, with headline gigs in Israel, France, Belgium, Luxembourg and the UK. In October 2014 he teamed up with Lando to launch their own label, Myth Music, which is poised to release Castle's first original studio work. With his experience working for esteemed labels Hotflush Recordings & Greco-Roman, it's hard to be surprised of the quality output of his own imprint. It is with a warm sweaty embrace that we welcome them both back to Sydney. ▫  Level One  ▫  Deepchild (live / Berlin)  Baron Castle  Dave Stuart   Down in the Dugout we have Something Else's little wizard James Petrou hosting another one of his fantastic Trojan House Records label nights with label mates James Petrou Dan “Bali” Baartz & tech house giant Michas Dimitris ▫  Dugout  ▫  James Petrou Dan Baartz Michas Dimitris
