- On Saturday, January 16th, Avalon Hollywood proudly presents one of the world’s most influential house and techno pioneers, Luciano. The special evening holds the distinction of being his first club performance in Los Angeles after a two-year hiatus. The renowned purveyor of underground electronic music will be spinning an extended set - and taking the dancefloor on a musical journey through multiple generations of house and techno. The Swiss native found his calling in Chile, where he and several other trailblazers like Señor Coconut (Atom Heart), Ricardo Villalobos, & Dandy Jack formed a tight knit crew that ushered in a golden era for the South American dance scene. This collective went on to shape the landscape of contemporary electronic music far beyond the borders of its continent. As a DJ Luciano has been at the forefront of this movement, pioneering a unique blend of percussive groove that drew upon his Latin influences and pairing them with Europe’s bleeding edge house and techno sounds. He came of age in Ibiza’s iconic DC10, famed for sets upon the terrace, where his natural charisma won hearts and minds. But it was under his Vagabundos banner that he truly became a global superstar, seamlessly moving from intimate after-hours to Ibiza megaclub, while remaining true to the underground aesthetic he helped define. Founded by Luciano in 2003, Cadenza Records is one of the world’s leading labels for quality techno and house. Under Luciano’s oversight the label has taken numerous artists under its wing including Loco Dice, Guti, Davide Squillace, Marlowe, Mirko Loko and many more, providing to be a consistently reliable bastion of quality.
