Our second foray into Manchester ground sees us bringing the legendary DJ Sprinkles all the way from over Japan for our return to Soup Kitchen.
One of dance music’s deep thinkers and truly revered producers, Terre Thaemlitz is an American DJ whose expertise lies in gender politics, queer theory, and above all, a strain of rich, sleazy New York house. On seminal releases such as 2009 LP ‘Midtown 120 Blues’, Thaemlitz has established herself as one of dance music’s premier producers, and most vital transgender voices. Her performance alias, DJ Sprinkles, has played records everywhere from Get Perlonized to the Royal Festival Hall, and proved the depth of her collection with the 2013 mix CD ‘Where Dancefloors Stand Still’.
Sprinkles was recently featured amongst Resident Advisor's top 100 and for good reason - there are very few amongst her contemporaries who are as capable behind the decks as her.
