- Absolution is a new off-location party catering for Berlin’s musically discerning partygoers. DJ/Producer, Founder of Berlin institution “Tape Club” and producer of Berlin’s outpost of “Horse Meat Disco” Jonathan Margulies joins forces with his London counterpart Gideön Berger to explore the nightclub experience in it’s rawest, purest, deepest form. Muso heavyweight Gideön is both DJ, vinyl archivist and co-founder/musical director of Glastonbury Festival’s legendary gay epicenter, Block9. The NYC Downlow (within Block9) is arguably the most critically acclaimed gay nightclub experience in the UK. Absolution’s first party will provide a dark & intimate space for gay Deep House devotees in a secret off location that Jonathan & Gideön have re-designed for this event: Jonathan says: “Berlin still has great undiscovered gems where we can create our own environments and play for a dedicated crowd… With Berlins club landscape becoming more and more commercial, it’s time to go back to the roots and get off the conventional club grid to get to the true fans of our music” Gideön says “Our forthcoming party will provide a pared down blackbox environment for sophisticated Deep House from the darker, dubbier, sleazier end of the spectrum” Absolution will announce up to 4 dates in 2016 and will take place in unique ‘one off’ venues in Berlin designed by Gideön Berger & Jonathan Margulies.
