As BlkMarket Membership celebrates 10 years of innovation and accomplishments in the New York underground, we do so with an eye on the future but also with respect to those who have helped bring us to where we now stand. The Innervisions crew have made many key appearances for us since we first invited them to Blkmarket membership well before their fame rose to its present point, so it is with pride we welcome back label co-founders Âme for an extended set.
Now over a dozen years into their influential career, things are quieter from their studio side than they were before, but this is made up for by their busy touring schedule both as DJs or in their rarer live PA sets, separately or together. For our tenth anniversary, their DJ-focused half Kristian Beyer will bring his unmatched sophisticated, searching, and deep style of house back to BlkMarket for the first time in over two years for what is sure to be a very special occasion.
Although his name may have risen to the fore internationally only in the past year or so, Solar has long been a fixture in the San Francisco scene, his career stretching back to the mid-90s and his Sunset Sound System events an important destination for house music in the Bay since 2009.
Now making his debut for BlkMarket Membership, newcomers to Solar’s style can expect diversity from such a selector who names esoteric characters like Traxx and Mick Wills amongst his favorites. His growing alliance with Innervisions and busy calendar, both across the US and in Europe, are testament to his experience and his veteran skills that can only be learned from years behind the decks.
A decade of BlkMarket Membership deserves a longer view, and as the kickoff for our month of festivities, we welcome two talents whose work has already stood the test of time.
