- We’re back down to Rye Wax with another of our favourite selectors in tow – the man like Kutmah! Our extremely talented friend Hector Plimmer (NTS I Brownswood) will also be joining us in support. This one’s for the Hip-Hop heads. For the uninitiated - Kutmah first made a name for himself many years ago as an underground artist and DJ in LA. His mixtapes from this time spent on the West Coast are now legendary amongst those that know. While as a key member of the city’s dublab collective and founder of Seminal club night Sketchbook he played a pivotal role in the evolution of the now infamous LA beat scene which saw the likes of his friends Flying Lotus and Gaslamp Killer rise to global prominence. However, in 2010, without advance warning nor provoking criminal activity Justin was deported to the UK by US Federal agents (read about this trialling experience in the Guardian here). After settling in London, his obvious talent and restless creativity gained him widespread respect an admiration from the cream of UK underground music. Since then he's travelled the world blessing like minded individuals with his unparalleled selection of left-field beats. These days, chances to catch him on the decks in a 100 capacity venue don't come around too often....
