VIRGINIA
The talented DJ, singer, songwriter and producer Virginia has been deeply involved in electronic music for over a decade. Growing up in Munich, the energetic and dedicated artist quickly found her feet in music. Her career kick-started in the late 90s thanks to a wave of early hit singles, and she soon began to tour as a DJ, discovering a real passion for life in front of the crowd.
UMFANG
Listed in FACT Magazine's Top 10 house and techno producers to watch in 2016, Emma Olsen, AKA UMFANG, is Umfang, is one of those people who commands your attention when she's behind the decks. She's a resident at the Bossa Nova Civic Club for several years and is one of the co-founders of Discwoman, a platform for increasing the visibility of female-identified DJs and producers. 2015 was a breakthrough year for Olsen, during which she cemented her position as a producer as well as DJ, releasing brilliant tapes for Videogamemusic and 1080p that combined subtle, murmuring textures and slamming, mechanical beats into something with a lot of personality. With any luck, 2016 should see her reputation spread further.
OLIVE T
Music mixer, DJ and selector Olive T is a native of NYC & a long-time scene supporter, dancer, and DJ. An early exposure to house and techno combined with a diverse knowledge and wide span of musical taste lends to her unique DJ style. She likes to weave a musical story and surprise her listeners in every environment.
CAPABLANCA
Capablanca is a charismatic and unorthodox DJ and producer. His approach to music and playing records is that of an eternal dilettante with a playful yet conceptual attitude, often refusing to follow the beaten path and always finding DIY detours to unknown territories. In 2008 starts the label Discos Capablanca releasing artists like Grackle(Burns), and the Mutant Beat Dance (TRAXX & Beau Wanzer with Eric D. Clark) using the label as a curatorial effort releasing other people's productions rather than his own. Since then Capablanca has developed a very peculiar sound (often melting psychedelic, disco and rawer influences) which can be easily recognized in his own productions, remixes and collaborations for labels like Cómeme, Correspondant, Astrolab, Gomma and Discoteca Océano.
WILLIE BURNS
Willie Burns is a man with fingers in many pies. He’s released his own music under Grackle & Black Deer amongst other aliases on forward thinking labels such as L.I.E.S., The Trilogy Tapes & Creme Organization. As well as DJing under Speculator and heading up his label W.T. Records, he also runs the legendary record shop, The Thing in Brooklyn.
