Cocadisco is back with probably our biggest party so far, a Friday 13th / Valentine’s special we’re calling Love Explosion, held for the first time in one of London’s best venues, Corsica Studios.
The line-up is incredible, and we’re thrilled to have our favourite DJ, the mighty I-F, heading a bill that includes live sets from cybernetic wildcats HEARTBREAK, playing their first UK show of 2009, and sultry disco sirens FAN DEATH, whose “Veronica’s Veil” single for Erol Alkan’s Phantasy Sound enchants.
Hotly tipped synth-pop princess LITTLE BOOTS will also be making an appearance behind the decks, alongside SPIDER AND THE FLIES – the Horrors’ freakier new analogue side-project for Mute records – and a DJ set from noirish newcomers THE XX. Commanding proceedings in the second room will be shadowy cosmic duo ZIO, a partnership of astonishing musical pedigree whose identity, for now, remains hush-hush.
Backing this lot up, you’ll encounter seasoned hitmen WILD GEESE (Frank Tope and Dan Foat) as well as sets from the YOUNG TURKS VS SALVIA crew and Cocadisco residents RODAIDH AND PIERS who’ll supply the finest Italo, electro, disco and house. You don’t want to miss this one.
