  • ORPHX: One of the most highly respected acts in both techno and industrial circles, Orphx have been developing their signature fusion of hypnotic rhythms and experimental noise for over twenty years. Using modular and analog synthesizers, software, location recordings and feedback circuits, Rich Oddie and Christina Sealey draw upon the darker, psychedelic fringes of techno and electro, and combine these elements with the experimental aesthetics and themes of early industrial music. Orphx gained an international following as one of the pioneering acts within the European ‘rhythmic noise’ scene and more recently came to the attention of techno fans through a series of acclaimed 12"s on Adam X’s Sonic Groove label, along with standout remixes for artists like Perc, Oscar Mulero and Svreca. Oddie and Sealey have performed throughout Europe and North America at celebrated venues like Berghain and Tresor as well as notable electronic music festivals such as Movement and Mutek. Their live appearances are renowned for delivering improvised performances that combine software with modular synthesizer and other hardware. Orphx have released nine full length albums and numerous singles on vinyl, CD and cassette that have had a significant influence on many artists in the present wave of industrial techno. Building on a sprawling back catalogue that stretches across the divisions between industrial, ambient and techno, their recent output has demonstrated that Orphx are both pioneers and innovators in the fusion of rhythm and noise. http://www.soundcloud.com/orphx NOBU: DJ Nobu has long been Japan's best kept secret, but lately it feels like the cat is well out of the bag as his global touring schedule fills up for 2016. Nobu has been producing the legendary Future Terror parties in Japan since 2001 and launched his Bitta label in 2012. More than anything though, he is known for his completely unpredictable yet always mind-melting DJ sets. We were completely floored by both his prime-time set at The Bunker in Tokyo and his opening set at The Bunker in Osaka in September, 2015. He will be playing the closing set of The Bunker NY takeover of Berghain in February. Few DJs demonstrate the depth of vision that seems to come naturally to Nobu. Check out some of his podcast and you'll see what we mean. We are thrilled to welcome Nobu to close out The Bunker for his debut North American appearance! http://futureterror.net/news/ ERIC CLOUTIER: Now making music as considered and carefully crafted as his DJ sets, Eric Cloutier has long been an influential selector. Though he recently started releasing his own music, it’s fair to say that Eric Cloutier has established himself as an influential underground figure purely off the back of his DJ sets. Known to be able to tease and control crowds for extended periods of time without resorting to cheap thrills or lowest common denominator kicks, since first emerging in 1996 he has been installed as resident at some of the most knowing venues around the world, and for good reason. These include local hotspots in his native Detroit, internationally acclaimed clubs in his current hometown of Berlin but also mythologised places like The Bunker in New York. In terms of festivals, only the finest will do, and as such Cloutier is one of the select few who gets invited to play the culturally considered affair that is Japan’s Labyrinth. “I like to keep it really body-oriented,” says the man of his inimitable DJ style. “I like to focus on hypnotising people in to a deep groove and just locking them in.” House, dub and techno are all fair game for Cloutier, and be they deep and driving tracks or harder hitting selections, every one bridges the gap between the old and the new in seamless and unpredictable ways. 2014 finds the high quality DJ further focussing on making and releasing music. As such and as well as being involved with The Bunker New York label and already established TANSTAFAAL imprint, his first productions and remixes have been snapped up by Studio-R, Freund Der Familie and Steve O'Sullivan’s influential Mosaic. Given that he is such an acclaimed and informed DJ, it’s no wonder Cloutier’s deep, airy and atmospheric music is turning out to be just as essential for those who know. https://soundcloud.com/cloutier MIKE SERVITO: Mike Servito is from a very special yet temporary and partially lost fertile crescent of techno / house / party DJing. It was a time when raves were still a fresh idea, almost felt like a revolution, and DJs like Claude Young, D Wynn, Derrick Carter and Mike Huckaby were informing an upcoming generation. If you look directly to that inspired generation you will find the lost threads of Detroit Techno, House and beyond, you will find a group of DJs with insanely deep mixing skills, the ability to rock almost any kind of party with an improvisational approach that is so skilled it makes everything seem so well thought out that even they don't know where their set will go. But, it will take you there! In the future, this special generation of deep midwest mixers will be remembered and revered as the wizards they are, long after the trendy players have lost their luster. Detroit never forgot about Mike Servito, his upfront dirty deep and bitchy taste has had an impact on Detroit nightlife for over a decade. From debuting in 1995 at Dat's Poorboy parties, to being a resident at blackbx and Ghostly's Untitled (along with Derek Plaslaiko, Tadd Mullinix, Matthew Dear, and Ryan Elliott), contributing to the bizarrely popular, wild and free Dorkwave, and progressing that concept into Sass (the hippest queer party in Detroit at the time), to blowing minds at Interdimensional Transmissions' No Way Back parties, Servito has made his impression. Moving to Brooklyn, Detroit's loss has been their gain, as he has found a proper home with a residency at The Bunker, and representation by Beyond Booking in North America and Odd Fantastic in Europe. http://soundcloud.com/mikeservito FIT SIEGEL: Fit Siegel otherwise known simply as FIT, has quietly risen to become a pillar of the Detroit underground. Siegel studied production under the tutelage of “Mad” Mike Banks within the hallowed halls of Underground Resistance’s Submerge building. His years of hard work paid off with his debut record “Tonite”, a bona fide underground hit released on Omar S’ FXHE label in 2012. FIT has worked closely with Alex O. Smith, remixing his anthemic track S.E.X. and issuing “Enter The Fog” 12”, a focused collaboration with Gunnar Wendel (Kassem Mosse) also on FXHE. More importantly, FIT has internalized the fierce DIY ethos of both UR and FXHE through his own label, FIT SOUND, and his crucial midwest distribution center, widely considered to be the finest source of new vinyl from the lionized city. As a DJ, FIT follows in the genre free footsteps of Motor City legends Ken Collier and The Wizard. Rather than cordoning off a specific sound, he pulls freely from disco and post punk, to the most alien forms of techno and house music breeding in Detroit today. His unique take on the Motor City sound has taken him to South America, across Europe, Asia and Australia. Back home, there are few more dedicated to the advancement of underground music than FIT. His days in Detroit are spent speaking and collaborating with producers such as Kenny Dixon Jr, Andrés, and Theo Parrish, finding new ways to push the music further. His nights are spent in his studio, producing, mixing or editing new material for upcoming projects. FIT has become a compendium of music from a city that many revere but few understand. With his production, DJing, label and distribution hub, the hardest working man in techno is looking towards the future now more than ever. https://soundcloud.com/fit THE LONG COUNT CYCLE: The Long Count Cycle is here to give shape to the void when needed. It's been said the internal knows no bounds. With this in mind, we seek total immersion. https://soundcloud.com/thelongcountcycle
