  • Anyone who followed the development of house music made in the usa in the last decade will certainly have met the art of fred peterkin aka fred p aka black jazz consortium. As a DJ, producer and label owner, Fred P has played a crucial role in the renaissance of New York’s house and techno scene. Growing up to a musical family in Brooklyn during the 1980s, Peterkin was exposed to the disco, funk and hip hop that he now effortlessly rolls into his introspective house productions. The Soul People Music boss has also released records for New York contemporaries Underground Quality and The Corner, and most recently a well-received LP on Japanese label Mule Musiq. Yet it’s behind a pair of turntables that Fred P shows his mastery. The New Yorker could claim to be one of the most respected DJs in the dance music world, a deeper than deep digger who specialises in warm, emotive house and thumping US techno.... His musical set phrase isn't new or special as he is often simply melting shuffling percussions with elementary melodies. but he does it in a sense that the heavy used and abused phrase "deepness" finally gets a fresh truthfully new meaning. As a supporter of his music and sound it's a my pleasure to welcome him to ATL for his first DJ appearance! Kai Alce Y'all know me! :) But in if not..... Born in NY, Raised in the D, now live & play in the A! Created label N D A T L Muzik & Kai Alcé in 2008 Started DISTINCTIVE @ the Sound Table a few years back hosting the likes of Moodymann, Larry Heard, Kyle Hall, Karizma, Omar S. just to name a few while holding down the fort for deep house music in general.
