The application phase for this year’s Academy edition in Montreal has started! To give you a taste of what a day at the Academy feels like, we’re hosting a RBMA Session, with a lecture and a club night, in Brno. Have all your questions about the Academy and the upcoming application process answered, learn a thing or two, and have some fun along the way.
Your guest lecturer will be Brooklyn’s party-starter and Academy alum Brenmar, who will also be serving up a breakneck set of uptempo bass music and low-slung R&B later that night, with additional support from Slovakian folk rapper Katarzia, and bass-heavy rave outfit Ink Midget & Pjoni, as well as Prague's NobodyListen, and local hero Tom Holič performing live.
Marrying the artificial gloss of commercial R&B with the urban grittiness of underground styles like Chicago footwork and global bass music, Brooklyn by way of Chicago DJ and producer Brenmar gets the dancefloor heat on. His releases on the Discobelle, Grizzly, Enchufada, and Fool’s Gold have taken him to both coasts of the US, Canada, Japan, and the EU – sending crowds with his up-tempo, neon-drenched tunes.
