After forming in 2011 they have gone from strength to strength; securing a release on a respected London label, playing in some of the largest venues in the country and being tipped as the ones to look out for by industry critics. With their debut EP being signed and released in their home city, the pair are looking to venture into international labels for forthcoming releases. Freight Train are Paul Leslie & Elliot Taylor: 2 friends from London who met in 2008 when they both began studying the same music course at University, so naturally a friendship was formed as they discovered they both had a huge passion for music. They started making tracks together in their spare time as they showed they both had experience and a natural talent for producing; Paul coming from a drums & guitar background and Elliot coming from a classical orchestra & keyboard background. They began DJ'ing as a duo; doing live performances going back to back on 4 decks, remixing tracks with effects & looping and delivering all round fast-paced sets which have attracted the attention of promoters from up and down the country. With so many musical influences, the Freight Train sound can only be described as a journey of live and electronic instruments, fused together with hard, invigorating basslines and hypnotic & melodic synths. So far in 2016 they have had notable gigs at the Nest playing alongside Shift K3Y and at POW, Brixton. You can catch them presenting their Derailed Show on Reprezent Radio every third Thursday of the month. ✪Kozber (Little Beat Different) KOZBER originates from Bydgoszcz, Poland. His story begins at a very young age when he had a desire to study classical cello and piano. As his love of music and sound deepened, he became enamoured with technological advances in music production and the challenging tones of bedroom brainiacs such as Aphex, Kraftwerk, Detroit techno scene, Autechre. This curiosity led the young man to seek the music out in Poland's thriving techno and house scene. Kozber began building a solid reputation on the dance-floors of Krakow and Poznan with his exploration into breakbeat, techno and tech house, never playing the same record twice, nor the same genre. As his standing in Poland became respected and much admired, he decided to look for new pastures to improve his DJ knowledge and credentials. On arriving in London in summer 2006 and making new friends, he started regularly sets at east London warehouse parties and fell in love with the culture and vibe. He has since blessed clubs such as Fabric, Cable and Cafe 1001 where he had a residency for over 5 years with his eclectic sets. ✪Maxine Garman Maxine Garman became interested in music from a young age following on from her interests in contemporary dance.
