Circuit - Launch Party

  • After a great first year at Home, Circuit move over to Sosho every Saturday night. As a venue Sosho offers all that made Circuit at Home so special, and more. A 24 hour license, two floors with bars manned by some of the best bartenders in London, a brand new Funktion One sound system, and all the comfort, quality and warmth the Circuit crowd clearly enjoy. The two rooms and later license in particular offer the opportunity for Circuit to go deeper and more expansive with the music programming. After the ‘Minimal’ stranglehold on the London dance scene in recent times, Circuit at Sosho offers London a very different kind of experience, two rooms of house music in all its warm variant forms, with more electronic techy sounds upstairs, and more organic disco sounds down. Resident DJ Enzo Siragusa, who's sound was central to the success of Circuit at Home, will over see the music up on the main floor. In 2008 Enzo took things to another level with his music, developing his own sound, and gaining widespread respect for consistently rocking it, whether that be at his own Circuit party or at Circo Loco at The End where he is a regular guest. Joining Enzo for the launch party of Circuit at Sosho will be The Mountain People. Respected Swiss producers Serafin and Rozzo have captured the imagination with their Mountain People label/production project. They have established quite a psychedelic house sound, one that hypnotized the secretsundaze faithful at Ministry at the beginning of the summer 2008, and will no doubt entrance those present at Sosho on 7th Feb. A steady trajectory over the past few years underlines the undoubted talent of Stuart Geddes. Aside from his well documented success with Mulletover, he has established himself internationally as one of the brightest British artists of recent times, and his label project Murmur is behind some wonderful uncompromisingly deep offerings. Joining Andy Bird & Toni Blackbeard down in Circuit's new disco lounge for the launch party is Mancunian favourite Greg Wilson and the TIRK DJ Tag team Matty J & Ben. TIRK is the label that rose from the ashes of legendary imprint Nuphonic. Matty J & Ben are the clued in duo who’ve been steering the label through a slew of great releases including the ‘Credit to the Edit’ anthology from fellow Circuit guest Greg Wilson. Mancunian Greg is undoubtedly an unsung hero of UK dance music. Via residencies at Wigan Pier, Manchester's Legend, then the Hacienda, Greg Wilson helped introduce electronic dance music to the UK. Coming out of retirement has seen Greg storm the UK and beyond with festival gigs, mixtapes, re-edits and some simply sublime DJ sets playing with CDs, laptop, vinyl and Reel 2 Reel tapes. Don't sleep on a chance to catch him in the capital. The Independent named Sosho as one of the coolest places in 21st Century London; back in 2001 it was Time Out’s bar of the year. Its staff undergoes an unparalleled level of training to maintain their position amongst the very best cocktails bartenders in London. There is also a brand new security team in to keep the mood nice and friendly. The addition of Circuit’s vibrant young crowd and international standard of music programming, to Sosho’s celebrated cocktail lounge bar makes for a unique party in London, please come join us for the launch.
