DMC Australia are proud to announce that the Australian heats of the 2005 World DJ Championships are back on. Instead of the usual state heats and national final format, this years event will feature a combined elimination and final on Saturday the 10th of September at the Hi-Fi Bar, 125 Swanston street, Melbourne.
Solo DJs from around Australia are invited to take part by contacting DMC on [email protected] or by calling DMC 03 9824 0944 as soon as possible. The format will be a 3-minute elimination round that begins at 8:00 p.m with the top six DJs going thru to the six-minute finals later in the evening. Entries close soon.
Reigning Australian champ Staen 1 will be defending his title and hoping to win his third national crown. Other prominent battle DJs who have entered include Melbourne's Perplex, Adelaide's Sumone, Kansel and Snair, Sydney's Eko, Digits and Dizar, Newcastles Skoob plus the winner of the tassie heat which is still going ahead on 27th August. As usual the winner will be flown to London to represent Australia at the World finals.
The event will be hosted by Troy and Reason with live shows from Melbourne's Phrase and Scarz on 45.
