Sat April 16 - The South London Soul Train welcomes back Ex Amy Winehouse backing vocalist and AW Lioness label signee - the amazing Zalon Live on stage. Your host Jazzheadchronic dropping a 6hr set alongside this ultimate entertainer with full live band + so much more across 4 floors at the CLF / Bussey.
The South London Soul Train continuing it's on going mission to seriously funk up your mind & body + force feed yoh soul with the absolute best of times.
Level 1 - Your host with the absolute most [and a bonafide taste for the baddest in groove] Jazzheadchronic drops a 6 hour set of uplifting soul, funk, groove disco and latin laced batu-tonic grooves, dropped so hard that it hurts. [But in the absolute best of ways]. The Mighty Jazzhead joined by the brilliant Zalon Thompson Live in concert.
Zalon Thompson might be better known as a backing singer for the late Amy Winehouse [who signed him as an artist in his own right to her Lioness label, as well as encouraging him to perform his solo work during her live sets] However, 2016 sees him very much doing his own thing, his own way and absolutely killing it in the process.
Zalon unearthing new and old gems from a treasure trove of smooth and funked up soul ballads + upfront groove classics in the vein of Curtis Mayfield & Marvin Gaye that'll hit you deeper, longer and soulfully harder - Right now Zalons on a roll and we are truly excited to welcome him back to The South London Soul Train stage.
If you saw him last year y'all know what to expect. Time to seriously get, it, ON!
Then on level 2, Legendary Funk, Soul & Rare Groove Heads DJ's Snowboy and the Mighty Dean Rudland hold down proceedings with an almighty rare on 45 all night dancefloor session. Bringin' the funkin’ heat on 45 to the dancefloor and igniting it, Again and again. All night long baby.
Level 3 Mukatsuku Records Founder, the simply outstanding Nik Weston & Long term DJ partner and audio partner in riddim & rhyme DJ Huw 72 host. Promising another night of blistering eclectic, globalistic groove. Bringing tha audio love and vinyl pressure. Prepare yourselves!
