Combining a love of classic house with the deepest edges of the techno vanguard, Max’s ear is tuned toward swirling, moody atmospherics and layered funk—all mixed with a slice of sex and the gentle caress of a soft, driving kick drum. A DJ, producer, party promoter, and night owl, Mantas is a man in love with a sound that is in love with your body. Think: gentle kicks, closed high hats, whispered, seductive vocals, loopy, circus bass. Sonically wise beyond his years, Mantas pushes the boundaries of Chicago’s audio palette. His sets mix classic house and the newest techno party jams with the warped world of artists like Melchior and Ricardo. Fans from Chicago and beyond have flocked to hear Mantas in ever-rising numbers. And as those who have witnessed his marathon after-party sessions know so well, it’s clear that the Stallion’s magic really works.
Ari Frank [Tied, Klectik Records]
Inspired by the long-running musical solidarity between his Chicago base (the home of house music) and neighboring Detroit (the birthplace of techno), Ari Frank’s musical mission is equally global and local. He has played NYC (Output), Detroit (TV Bar, The Works, MCW), Berlin (Katerholzig, Tresor, and Sisyphos), Tel Aviv (Deli, Bootleg) but still holds it down regularly at Chicago clubbing institutions like Spybar. As a member of Chicago's Tied Collective you can also find him performing regularly at underground venues across the city. In addition, Ari has released his productions on international imprints such as Legotek Records, Better on Foot, Klectik, Danse Club, Snubb, and more.
