The fourth edition of Sónar Reykjavík takes place from the 18th through the 20th February over five stage at one of Europe's most unique concert venues: Harpa Concert House in downtown Reykjavik.
Situated by the harbour in downtown Reykjavik, Harpa is in the midst of the city's heartbeat - in walking distance from its prominent hotels, museums, bars and restaurants. The five stages of the festival include the SonarClub the seated Sonar Complex and the SonarLab in the underground car-park
Sónar Reykjavík 2016 features over 70 artists, bands and DJs performing and capacity of only 3.300 guests. Last two editions of the festival have been sold out.
This years edition of Sónar Reykjavik is celebrating its first Sónar+D, the international conference on the digital transformation of the creative industries to develop and strengthen talent, exchange of knowledge and establish business opportunities. The focus of this 2016 edition of Sónar+D will be on creativity and technology from the local scene and from visiting speakers and creators on music, visuals and technology.
The Red Bull Music Academy will host a stage at Sónar Reykjavik 2016, showcasing a hand-picked selection of trailblazing talent, both local and international. The Academy has maintained a long-running partnership with Sónar Barcelona for now over a decade, and has supported Sónar’s expansion into the Nordic market. By bringing its curatorial expertise to the Icelandic edition of Sónar, the Academy gives credit to the thriving local music scene, as well as the rising prestige of Sónar Reykjavik over the past three years.
