Get ready for a night of serious heavyweight DnB as we bring you some of the UK's finest. Rockwell Thomas Green – aka ROCKWELL - has without question been one of the most exhilarating talents to come out of the drum and bass scene in recent times, heralded by the music press as one of the most distinct artists working today. His incredible talent has seen him release on the likes of Digital Soundboy, Renegade Hardware, Critical and Darkestral, and now Shogun Audio. Tracks such as ‘Underpass’, ‘Reverse Engineering’ and ‘4U’ highlighted ROCKWELL as one of the most original and talented producers in bass music, constantly dazzling with painstaking construction, beautiful arrangements and seemingly effortless ingenuity. His music offers unique textures seldom heard in electronic music, let alone drum and bass, and his unmistakable signature sound and ability enables Rockwell to demolish a dance floor with one hand while soothing your soul with the other. During 2012 Rockwell fired out some inspired work; bona fide dance floor gems such as ‘Tripwire’ and the outstanding ‘Constantcomplexrhythmicsound’ sat alongside huge remixes for the likes of Netsky and Jubei whilst his final release of the year ‘Childhood Memories’ pushed the boundaries even further. Delving way outside the constraints of 170bpm, Rockwell picked up support from across the bass music spectrum including Annie Mac, Mistajam, Chase & Status and Zane Lowe who selected it as his 'Next Hype' track on Radio1. Then in 2013 a legend was born, that legend bore the name ‘Detroit’ and became the most iconic Rockwell track yet, blowing up Zane Lowe’s sub live on air on Radio 1, rendering Mistajam speechless and caving in every club around the globe in the sets of Friction, Andy C and all the rest. The year also saw Tom take on his very own radio show as part of BBC Radio 1’s Residency and In New DJ’s We Trust schedule showing him to be natural behind the mic and prepare him for many a fill-in for Friction’s D&B show. Teased by tracks like ‘I Need U’ and ‘1234’ in 2014 rumours of the incoming album were rife. Now in 2015 Rocky’s debut album ‘Obsolete Medium’ is here, an electronic adrenaline shot that mixes straight up hard-hitting D&B with sonic experiments that will leave jaws well and truly dropped. Not only an awe-inspiring producer but a formidable DJ in his own right, Rockwell sets have been lighting up clubs all over the world from Amnesia Ibiza to Boiler Room TV such is his diversity. Whether he’s playing a Radio 1 show or a heaving club, his increasing tendency to switch the BPM’s during his hi-octane drum & bass has truly set him apart. Behind the decks as in the studio, Rockwell always keeps you on your toes. https://soundcloud.com/rockwell https://www.facebook.com/rockwelldnb Joe Ford Joe Ford is a man on a mission, ready to shake up the world of D&B and beyond with his own unique brand of bass music destined for dance floors across the globe. Hailing from Harrogate UK, Joe leads a new wave of producers currently taking the scene by storm, setting himself apart with an already outrageously accomplished studio skill set and trademark hi-tech drum & bass sound tinged with rock, funk and everything in between. With a flurry of activity around early releases on Bad Taste, Med School, a Beatport dubstep chart no.1 with the Mission EP on Caliber Music and huge support on UKF, Joe Ford is one of the most exciting talents currently in electronic music, worldwide. Picked up by Friction and K-Tee, Joe now sits as an exclusive Shogun Audio artist alongside one of the most prestigious rosters in the game. After his stint as support act for Noisia’s I Am Legion tour, his debut Shogun track 'Stride', from the Way Of The Warrior 2 compilation album, marked his arrival in style. Continuing throughout 2014 with his downright dangerous ‘The Moment’ ft Tasha Baxter b/w the effervescent ‘Neon’ release and a remix for one of the biggest USA EDM’ers in the game, Datsik, he sealed the year with ‘Off Centre’ and knocked us all for six. In fact his rework of ‘Hold It Down’ forced Datsik to exclaim “Joe Ford is the future!” in a recent interview…and who are we to argue. 2015 has been Joe’s biggest year to date gaining even more notoriety with his very own radio show on the legendary Kiss Fresh / FM whilst releasing his heavily hammered 5-track ‘All Of Us’ EP on Shogun. Just back from an Australian DJ tour alongside label boss Friction and with more music to come with an ever-increasing DJ schedule, there’s no doubt Joe Ford is coming to conquer, you’ve been warned. Technimatic Musically rich, emotionally charged and evocative drum & bass has fast become the trademark sound of Pete Rogers and Andy Powell aka Technimatic, now firmly established as a mainstay of the Shogun Audio roster. Having started making music together back in 2008 as Technicolour & Komatic, releasing their first record ‘Preacher’ on Technique’s sister imprint Worldwide Audio, little could be known of what the future had in store. Since then the duo have gone on to release their liquid-infused blend of hyper-coloured D&B on labels such as Critical, Hospital, SGN:LTD and even the seminal Good Looking with Technicolour’s own official remix of LTJ Bukem’s ‘Music’. Never resting on their laurels, Shogun Audio were quick to recognise the potential of Technimatic and signed them exclusively in 2012 to their sister imprint SGN:LTD. They went on to drop one of the most successful releases on the label, the formidable ‘Intersection’ EP, supported by the Mistajam and Friction amongst others on BBC Radio 1. Their contribution to Shogun’s award winning ‘Way Of The Warrior’ album series Pt.2 marked their graduation to the front line with the likes of Gilles Peterson supporting their ‘Bristol’ track on BBC 6Music. 2014 saw Technimatic standing tall as fully fledged members of Shogun Audio’s ever evolving entourage of some of the best electronic music artists in the world, touring the world with an ever-increasing DJ schedule. As such they managed to deliver the drum & bass album of the summer, ‘Desire Paths’, their beautifully conceived and received debut LP that saw them hitting the high notes with the likes of Radio 1, Mixmag, Resident Advisor, Ninja Tune’s Solid Steel and Thump who ranked it in their top 50 albums of the whole year. Endorsed by Friction, Annie Mac, Eddy Temple-Morris, Gilles Peterson, Mistajam, Rob Da Bank, the duo continue to ride high on the tail end of their recent summer 2015 ‘Flashbulb EP’, whilst beginning work on their second studio album. + local supports.
