  • UPA - The Underground Producers Alliance (UPA) is an alliance of renowned music producers, performers, composers, marketing strategists and engineers, banding together to offer an entirely new approach to music education, providing students with deeper knowledge into the art of sound and music production. Music is made and released within the UPA "Ghost Program", where renowned professionals collaborate to develop a production around a focused curriculum. www.upa.nyc GHOST PRODUCER Raz Mesinai (Badawi, Sub Dub) has been an influential figure in the NYC underground music scene for over 20 years, with over 100 albums as diverse as NYC itself, on a wide range of highly respected labels, including John Zorn's avant-garde, composition label "Tzadik", and iconic Dub, Punk and Ska label "ROIR". In the, 90's DJ's began to refer to Raz Mesinai as "Ghost Producer", for his haunting sound and the unexplained paranormal activity that would take place when playing his music on a sound system. "Ghost Producer produces ghosts." https://ghostproducer.bandcamp.com/ Max Glazer (Federation Sound) Founded in 1999 by Max Glazer and Kenny Meez, Federation Sound has been dedicated to pushing the envelope and finding new and creative ways to share their love of dancehall, reggae and Caribbean music. Max Glazer is on a continuous tour of the world as a DJ and has produced a number of dancehall classics, including Vybz Kartel's "Whine (Wine)" which was featured on VP Records Reggae Gold 2011 and Westwood - The Big Dawg Is Back (Universal UK). Federation Sound's first official riddim release, Flatlands, featured Mr. Vegas, Mr. Lexx, Ward 21, Prince Zimboo and more. It was also followed by the ground breaking Flatlands Remix Project. In 2015 came the Highland riddim, featuring Vybz Kartel, Tifa, Marcy Chin and more. Under the name "Triple Crown", Max shared production duties with Cipha Sounds and Disco D on the remix of Pharell and Jay-z's "Frontin" which featured Vybz Kartel & Wayne Marshall and appeared on the Grammy nominated Def Jamaica album. Max has also worked with Brooklyn super producer Ricky Blaze on several projects, including the massive bootleg dancehall remix of Rihanna's #1 hit single "What's My Name" featuring original lyrics from Vybz Kartel and the Federation Sound remix of Matt & Kim's "Tonight" off their Lightning Remixes album on Fader Label. Federation Sound has worked with virtually all of the top names in reggae music including Sean Paul, Shaggy, Mavado, Baby Cham, rising star Chronixx and many more. Max Glazer toured with Rihanna for 4 years as her DJ / musical director. Working with the pop superstar from the release of her breakthrough single "pon de replay", Max put together all the music for her live shows as they traversed the globe, performing on some of the most iconic stages in the world… London's Wembley Arena, New York's Madison Square Garden and Radio City Music Hall, Jamaica's Sumfest stage, and even touched down in Africa, Thailand, Trinidad and Barbados, among many others. He has also appeared with Rihanna on numerous television shows including MTV’s TRL, VMA’s, Live with Regis & Kelly, All My Children, The Tyra Banks Show, and many many more. http://federationsound.com/ Dj Sabine (Oyasound) UPA Ghost Program alumnus Dj Sabine Blaizin's work focuses on the exposure and pleasures of African Diasporic music. Brooklyn Mecca and Oyasound are a few of her creative projects. Over the years, Dj Sabine's mainstay and cultivation has been the monthly event Brooklyn Mecca which has been coined the home of "Grassroots Dance Culture". Her Oyasound Ep is currently in the works. Sabine worked for Ocha Records label as a Brand Marketing Director/Producer and Bembe NYC Party resident DJ. Dj Sabine spins Global Soul: House, Afrotech, Afrobeat, Haitian Roots and other Diasporic tunes. She's had the great opportunity to spin nationally in the US in NYC, Atlanta, St. Louis, Memphis, Chicago, Omaha, Boston, Miami, LA/Oakland, NJ, Washington DC, Dallas, Denver and internationally in Montreal, Dakar, Haiti, & Cancun. She sits on several panel discussions for the well renown Caribbean Culture Center African Diaspora Institute (CCCADI), highlighting the power of spirituality in the arts and has been honored as an emerging artist at the 27th Annual Women of Power Conference 2014: The Art of Being a Women on Mar. 15th, 2014. Sabine has also made the Most Respected House DJ's List of 2014 by MediaServiceNyc for recognized innovative djs. In June 2014, Sabine produced her 1st installment of her project Lakay Se Lakay: Home Is Home a Haitian electronic artists conversation series & No Passport (NYC Edition) party in conjunction with Haiti Cultural Exchange's 1st NYC Haitian Arts & Culture festival Selebrayson!. Deep Space has been presented abroad at the Big Chill Festival (UK), Plastic People (UK), TDK Cross Central Festival (UK), Space Lab Yellow (Japan), Café Jamaica (Japan), Precious Hall (Japan), Phase (Japan), throughout France, in Berlin, Denmark, SONAR Festival in Barcelona and across the U.S. In 2010 Deep Space received a dedicated night at Burning Man’s Disorient camp. In 2004 Deep Space was nominated for “Best Club Night” by the internationally televised “DanceStar USA” awards. In 2005 & 2006 François K. won “Best Resident DJ Award” at the Club World Awards held in Miami. Deep Space was named “Best Party 2004” in Time Out New York. Deep Space was nominated for “Best Party,” at the Club World Awards 2006 and 2007. New York Magazine featured Deep Space in the “Best of New York 2006” issue. In 2013 Do Androids Dance lauded Deep Space as one of “The 10 Best Club Nights in the US.” Francois K. was named "Best Resident DJ" by the 2015 Nightclub Awards. Also in 2015 Time Out New York listed Deep Space as "one of the top 20 parties in NYC right now."
