Red Bull Music Academy Weekender Warsaw

  • From May 19th to 22nd, the third edition of Red Bull Music Academy Weekender Warsaw presents a wide range of performances, unique collaborations and premieres across the city. The event will feature over 30 concerts, DJ sets and live acts, including Ibeyi, Stormzy, Malpa, Miss Red vs. The Bug, Andy Stott, Jessy Lanza, RP Boo, DJ Paypal and Butterz cohort Swindle with full live band, alongside a number of Academy alumni, such as Zebra Katz, Sevdaliza, Robot Koch, Samyiam, and Mr. Krime, as well as some of the most interesting Polish talents. The festival will kick off on Thursday with a premier concert - Lado ABC & U Know Me: Uncovered - featuring a fusion of independent Polish music icons pairing up to interpret each other’s work. Friday and Saturday will see performances by Cuban-French twin sisters Ibeyi, UK grime upstart Stormzy, Miss Red vs. Ninja Tune’s sound system devotee The Bug, Manchester’s deep techno don Andy Stott, Brooklyn’s maverick rapper Zebra Katz, Hyperdub’s Canadian singer/producer Jessy Lanza, Livity Sound's Peverelist and Kowton, Rotterdam’s future bass songstress Sevdaliza, Croydon funk phenomenon Swindle, space soul trailblazer Robot Koch, Chi-Town juke pioneer RP Boo, LA beatmaker and Brainfeeder cohort Samiyam, Teklife stalwart DJ Paypal, Cómeme collaborator Lena Willikens and the comeback of Polish rapper Malpa. On Sunday the Weekender will host its grand finale with another exceptional musical collaboration; to celebrate 30 years on stage, free jazz musician Wojtek Mazolewski will perform together with legendary saxophone player Zbigniew Namyslowski.
