Empathy 15th Birthday with John Digweed / Nick Warren

  • The second Bank Holiday Sunday of 2016 will see Empathy take over the legendary 02 Academy. It's one hell of a special occasion, Empathy's 15th Birthday Party. We're very pleased to bring one of the worlds finest DJ's and Producers back to Bristol for the first time in almost 25 years. The sound of Bedrock - JOHN DIGWEED! His last appearance in Bristol was in 1994 at Lakota for a Northern Exposure Tour with Sasha. There’s no doubt that this is a historic event, and in more ways than one. From Top 40 smashes ‘Heaven Scent’ and ‘For What You Dream Of’ to world renowned mix CDs for Renaissance, Global Underground and Northern Exposure, it’s little surprise he was voted No.1 DJ in the World by DJmag readers in 2001. His Bedrock brand has become globally renowned and his tour diary consists of the biggest clubs and festivals across the globe. He will be fresh from his Re-Structured Tour and appearing at Coachella in California as well as this, his latest compilation ‘Live In Montreal’ will be flying off the shelves in record stores all over the world. John Digweed's Transitions radio show is one of the world’s most successful dance music shows, broadcast across 45 countries to a staggering weekly audience of over 14 million. For this special event, the 02 Academy will be transformed. Expect a dark atmospheric club-like environment, perfect for the musical journey John Digweed will provide. We're excited to welcome back one of the true legends of progressive house, local boy Nick Warren, who was the resident DJ at Lakota when John Digweed last played. Nick Warren plays all over the world to huge crowds, most recetly to 5,000 people in Buenos Aires on his South American Tour. His Way Out West album with production partner Jody Wisternoff is imminent. Nick has played Empathy many times in the past and always delivers the goods. This will be a rare show for Nick in his hometown, and it's set to be one special event. In support we have our very own Jim Rivers AKA Copy Paste Soul, his track ‘Empathy’ was a Bedrock release in 2008 and also featured on John Digweed's ‘Bedrock 10 Past Present Future’ compilation. More recently he’s rising to the top with his CPS productions on Intec, Gruvv and Exploited. Get your ticket now to avoid disappointment: £10 Early bird / £12.50 1st Release / £15 2nd Release. MOTD
