We’re heading back to our beloved home away from home, The Pickle Factory, once more for another tasty instalment for all our London pals. This time we bring another two exceedingly smooth selectors to the capital in the forms of AMIR ALEXANDER and TOM ELLIS.
It’s been over three years since we first had the pleasure of bumpin’ heads with Amir and witnessed his talents first hand at our Leeds base, Wire. A lot has changed since our last encounter for the Chi-Town native after relocating to Europe and breathing some fresh influences in to his already esteemed back catalogue. A steady string of releases on Argot, Plan B, Secretsundaze and a very accomplished EP and LP on his homies Anunnaki Cartel imprint has seen Amir playing all over the world touring throughout the last few years with his own unique twist on the Chicago/Detroit sound. It’s definitely a welcome return for one of the most charismatic personalities we’ve crossed paths with in recent years.
Next in line we’ve invited along a stone-cold underground hero in terms of the wealth of music this guy has churned out in recent years. Tom Ellis has been caressing our ears with jazz-infused house cuts and off-kilter techy wobblers for the last decade or so with his hardware heavy sound bubbling away beneath the mainstream. An out an out producer at heart, Tom has been playing his trade with the Freerotation family over the last few years whilst popping up every so often with releases on some of our most beloved labels, such as Telegraph, Steevio & Suzybee’s Mindtours and more recently his own imprint Modo Di. With such an elusive talent coming out to play, it’s certainly a real treat for everyone involved.
