We are looking forward to welcoming HOT CHIP who we wanted to see playing on the holy field for a very long time. It’s happening in 2016 as they will be headlining the MAIN STAGE. Also added to the line-up are GET WELL SOON who will bring big gestures to the big stage. Already announced before but we’d like to name them again: the glamrock boys of BILDERBUCH from Vienna and Hamburger girl gang SCHNIPO SCHRANKE.
Have a look on the CARHARTT WIP STAGE which is not less interesting: MAX GRAEF BAND from Berlin presents handmade house music and Düsseldorf- based band STABIL ELITE brings their much-awaited new album. Furthermore, Jan Schulte premiers his new project WOLF MÜLLER & CASS at OPEN SOURCE FESTIVAL and GAIKA and his dark sound straight from London continues where FUTURE BROWN left off in 2015.
The sensational IRDIS ACKAMOOR & THE PYRAMIDS from Senegal will show us the spheres to which their Cosmic Jazz can catapult us and last, but noch least are we looking forward to welcoming rapper and producer ODDISEE along with his fabulous band GOOD COMPANY. Last year we received 130 applications for the eight slots of our YOUNG TALENT STAGE and this year’s rush isn’t less great.
Since December 2015 OPEN SOURCE FESTIVAL and WOYTON present cozy pop-up- shows at their coffee places. The first ones were so well-attended and we are looking forward to many more.

For the first time, OPEN SOURCE FESTIVAL will be live on air. NTS RADIO from London is coming for a visit and will be streaming DJ-Sets and interviews live from the festival.

Ganz besonders freuen wir uns über HOT CHIP, die wir schon lange nach Düsseldorf auf den heiligen Rasen locken wollten und die wir in diesem Jahr auf der MAIN STAGE als Headliner präsentieren. Außerdem neu dabei sind GET WELL SOON, die eine große Bühne mit großen Gesten erst zur echten MAIN STAGE machen. Schon bekannt, aber doch in aller Deutlichkeit erwähnenswert: die Glitzerrocker von BILDERBUCH aus Wien und natürlich die Hamburger SCHNIPO SCHRANKE, die Pisse wieder salonfähig machen.
Auch das Line-up der CARTHARTT WIP STAGE kann sich sehen lassen: die MAX GRAEF BAND präsentiert handgemachte Housemusik aus Berlin, die Düsseldorfer STABIL ELITE ihr heiß ersehntes und schon vorab gefeiertes neues Album. Jan Schulte feiert mit seinem neuen Projekt WOLF MÜLLER & CASS auf dem OPEN SOURCE FESTIVAL Live-Premiere, GAIKA macht mit seinem dunklen Sound aus London da weiter, wo 2015 FUTURE BROWN aufgehört haben. Ganze 130 Bewerbungen gingen im letzten Jahr auf die acht Slots auf unserer YOUNG TALENT STAGE ein und auch in diesem Jahr ist das Interesse wieder riesig.
Seit letztem Dezember präsentiert das OPEN SOURCE FESTIVAL übrigens in Kooperation mit WOYTON schnuckelige Pop-Up-Konzerte in Düsseldorfer Kaffeehäusern. Schon die ersten Konzerte waren bestens besucht und wir freuen uns auf viele weitere.
#SIENANNTENIHNRADIO
Das OPEN SOURCE FESTIVAL gibt es in diesem Jahr zum ersten Mal live on air: Aus London besucht uns NTS RADIO und streamt am Festivaltag mit DJ-Sets und Interviews direkt vom Festivalgelände.
