This month Einzelkind rejoin mulletover after their appearance for them at The End last year (to be recollected in an episode of mulletover’s new podcast series). Einzelkind AKA Arno Völker and Miguel Ayala were born and raised in Cuba, where they grew up in family of 17. When they came to Germany one of the first words they learned was "Einzelkind" (only child). Being totally alien to the concept of growing up alone, they took it as their project name and tried to adapt to their new surroundings. In 2007 they launched their La Pena label, becoming one of the scene’s most respected. Voodoo was a vital part of the upbringing of Einzelkind, they often record their shaman rituals and use them as samples in their tracks giving them a heavy spiritual feel. Lee Curtiss has been forging his unique, avant-garde and primal brand of deep and twisted dance music since the late 1990’s. A constantly changing and ever-eager student of his craft, growing up between the two poles of Chicago and Detroit organized Lee’s approach to production and DJing. Lee’s sound blends the depth and soul of the most forward thinking house music with his own style of heavily syncopated, polyrhythmic percussion and deep, insistent basslines. The result is music that is both emotionally delicate and physically strong, as organic as it is metallic—and as appropriate for the dancefloor as for any proper afterhours. French-born Greg Sonata was behind London’s legendary Foreign muck parties and more recently had a monthly residency at T Bar before it shut its doors. Both famed for warmth in their sound, he joins mulletover’s resident Geddes for a main room of musically led fireworks. Geddes’ murmur label will release its seventh EP this month featuring an exotic remix from Einzelkind. Size Doesnt Matter Flashlight Proudly presents the second room of this event. Promising a mutant disco inferno featuring mulletover regulars Simon Kurrage and Mr Shiver alongside very special guest Bill Brewster of DJ History/ Lowlife fame. Brewster is a long-standing member of the dance music community, contributing various books on the history and background of the scene and DJing across the globe. Size Doesn’t Matter regularly host shindigs around the capital fusing the likes of funk, disco and ragga into great dancefloor events.
