With the impending third release from Organic Analogue Records ready to drop, the team thought it only right to hold a launch party to commemorate what will be a landmark release for the label and the artist, Welsh rave legend DJ Guy.
This latest O/A transmission features Structures, a 12" of techno-oriented material from Guy’s post-2000 years and a cassette of jungle creations from the ‘90s entitled Rhythms 94 - 99. Anyone who has witnessed Guy DJing will attest that his skills, more than 25 years in the making, are astounding, fusing every shade of the electronic music we love from classic techno, electro and jungle sounds through to more contemporary fare with the keen instinct and creative spark of a true craftsman.
In expanding the line-up for the occasion, we’re also thrilled to invite Bristol-based artist Sophia Loizou up to perform a hybrid DJ/live set. Her brand new album Singulacra is a captivating swirl of ambient, drone-powered pieces shot through with key references to the early jungle scene.
White Peak have been working on a raft of material for both home and live consumption that draws heavily on the pressure of hardcore, jungle and techno, seeing first light with a remix on the Rhythms 94 – 99 cassette. Their DJ set is sure to draw on those influences and distill them in an era-spanning fashion that sidesteps obvious reaches in favour of head spinning new propositions.
BMO ( the one and only Oli Warwick ) is responsible for running the crossover-concerned Schmorgasbord label, while his selecting habits are known to reach from strange rhythmic abstractions on the new frontier back to B2 curios in the earliest days of the 12” single.
