Saints Don't Sleep: Andrés, Eliphino, The Menendez Brothers & More

  • We have taken a short break but on Friday 6th May, Saints Don’t Sleep returns to Brixton welcoming back some old and new faces. After hosting the likes of Dark Sky, Citizenn, DJ Rum, Kon & Amir, Homework, Karizma + many more, DJ Dez AKA Andrès will be returning for another killer show at SDS! Andrès (Detroit / Mahogoni Music) Heading up the bill DJ Dez AKA Andrés. The Detroit native and former Slum Village tour DJ has developed into one of the most revered DJs and producers in the world. His peerless CV has seen him work with legendary artists such as J Dilla and Moodymann, and release a number of critically acclaimed LPs and singles including what was undoubtedly one of 2012’s biggest records ‘New For U’. It is a huge honour to have such an exceptionally talented artist return to play for us. Eliphino (Somethinksounds / Hypercolour / Brownswood) The Berlin-based DJ has an hefty number of releases under his belt on labels such as Brownswood Electric, the Love Below & Hypercolour, including 2012's singular "More Than Me". Having played the length and breadth of the globe now, he is now a dab hand on the show circuit - constantly smashing crowds left, right and centre with his eclectic, party-centric mixes. The Menendez Brothers (FOUND / So Fresh So Clean) Saints wouldn’t be complete without long serving residents The Menendez Brothers who have been riding an inspirational wave of success recently with appearances at Glastonbury, Secret Garden and Lovebox to name but a few! Nixwax Alec, Ralph and Rob are founders of London-based imprint, Nixwax. Started in 2011, Nixwax is going from strength-to-strength with their carefully curated releases on pieces of black plastic. In winter Nixwax host nights across London and in the summer you will find them hosting stages at festivals such as Gottwood and Secret Garden Party. The label has a strong connection with Germany, particularly the vibrant scene in Frankfurt and they make regular trips there to play in city’s clubs, stock up on records and enjoy the local mettbroetchen. 2016 is tipped to be a big year for Nixwax with their first release by Tommy Vicari Jnr picking up critical acclaim and rapidly selling through at the some of Europe’s leading record shops. Strictly over 18s only, ID required for entry.
