JONNY NASH - Live
Jonny Nash began producing when living in Japan as part of Tokyo’s Discossession collective, where he recorded on Crue-L records alongside artists such as Cornelius and Love Tambourines. A key member of Lovefinger’s ESP Institute label, Nash released the labels’ debut under the name Sombrero Galaxy with Tako Reyenga, earning praise across the board of high profile deejays including David Mancuso and Francois K. This was further realised as one half of the celebrated electronics/guitar combo “Land of Light” alongside Kyle Martin. Releasing their debut album to critical acclaim in 2012 and the duo have toured globally with their live electronics set-up.
After a period of experimentation and collaboration with artists such as Peaking Lights, Rub n’ Tug and Gigi Masin, Nash launched his own label Melody As Truth in 2014, with the blissful ambient 5 track EP “Phantom Actors”. This was followed up with a collaborative LP as “Gaussian Curve” with Italian ambient maestro Gigi Masin and Dutch producer Young Marco. An 8-track guitar focussed EP “Exit Strategies” followed in 2015, highlighting Nash’s ability as a multi-instrumentalist. Nash is a versatile live performer. His solo live show, based around his signature guitar textures and hypnotic rhythms has been performed in festivals and clubs worldwide to critical acclaim.
WILSON TANNER - Live
A.R.T. Wilson returns from the Overworld, this time in partnership with Eleventeen Eston AKA John Tanner for another journey into the heart of the horizontal. Setting up camp where the Swan River meets the Indian Ocean, Wilson and Tanner tuned into nature, translating the warm sun, sea air and blue sky into a postcard from paradise. Lithe clarinet dances around
tranquil piano, relaxed guitar decorates velvet synth textures and unhurried percussion makes an occasional appearance,
as if to remind us that time’s still passing. Employing an innovative alfresco recording technique, Andy and John invited members of the local animal community to join their jam sessions, saving a Blue Swimmer Crab from the flames of the barbecue and encouraging him to claw the ivories. Drop the needle and drift away on the distant ocean of “Pilot”, freefall into the soothing ambience of ‘Further Than Your Headlights’, and let
“Sun Room” guide you gently back to terra firma.
